Tour Overview
Kanchanaburi is home to the famous bridge River Kwai, near the War Cemetery, 80 miles outside of Bangkok. This popular tourist attraction has now been developed into a walkway with side platforms, allowing you to soak up the views on foot. There are also small tourist trains that run back and forth across the bridge.
This tour is perfect for Second World War enthusiasts where you can see the Allied War Grave cemeteries and the Death War Museum, which is home to a collection of paintings depicting the war’s tragic period.
The journey from Bangkok to River Kwai offers charming sceneries through the sugar cane fields, rice paddies and pineapple plantations, you will learn all about the history and construction of the bridge and the Death Railway – a huge wartime project to link existing Thai and Burnmese railway lines to create a direct route from Bangkok to Rangoon, supporting the Japanese occupation of Burma. After lunch you will be escorted on an enjoyable speedboat ride down the river, take in the wonderful views including the infamous bridge itself. In between there will be some free time for you to explore at your own leisure, then you will head on a train ride through the area before heading back to Bangkok.

This experience includes a visit to the Bridge on the River Kwai, an allied War Grave Cemetery and entrance to the Death War museum, air-conditioned transportation, and services of an English speaking guide, Lunch, a speedboat ride and a local train ride.
