Overview

Shangri La Al Husn Resort & Spa enjoys a unique cliff top location in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, with a backdrop of mountains and views of the Gulf of Oman. Built in the style of an old fort it is a luxurious and indulgent Arabic retreat inspired by Royal Arabian palaces – with a generous sprinkling of romance and Arabian mystique for an unforgettable honeymoon.

Room Types

The 180 rooms and suites are all generously sized and luxuriously furnished. They all face the sea and have spacious furnished balconies for enjoying the views of the Gulf of Oman. There is a living area with sofa and comfortable chairs, flat screen TV with satellite/cable flat screen TV with in-house movie channel and BOSE sound system. There are tea making facilities and an Nespresso coffee machine plus a generously sized writing desk and electronic safe. The walls are decorated with eclectic artwork by Omani artists and the opulent king size bed has a stunning carved rosewood headboard that reaches the ceiling and floor to ceiling sliding windows lead out onto the balcony. The stylish bathroom has both a bath and walk-in shower and sliding wooden panels so that you can relax in the bath whilst you enjoy sea views and luxury toiletries are provided. There is air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout and a lovely touch is that a fresh vase of flowers and fruit bowl are placed in the room each day and extra beach towels are provided.

Deluxe Room

This luxurious accommodation with its tranquil views is very relaxing and looks very regal with stylish medium wood furniture that accentuated the carved headboard and the richly coloured soft furnishings on the king size bed. Carpeted throughout, there is a sofa and comfortable chair plus writing desk in the living area and attractive Omani lamps, the outside balcony is furnished with table, chairs and a sofa and has views of the cliff top infinity pool or the private beach. The bathroom has both bathtub and shower and sliding wooden panels to reveal the lovely view of the Bay of Oman. This room type is also available as a Deluxe Sea View with serene ocean views and the same amenities plus a mini bar.
One Bedroom Suite

There is 96 sq m of contemporary luxury in this stylish One Bedroom Suite which has Arabian inspired décor. There is a comfortable living room with sofa, armchairs, coffee table and large floor to ceiling sliding windows that open onto the spacious furnished balcony with ocean views. The separate bedroom has a beautiful king size bed and marble clad bathroom with rain shower and separate bathtub with lovely ocean views. Guests in this suite are welcomed with a traditional Chinese tea service.
Al Husn Speciality Suite

This luxurious and truly spacious (150 sq m) suite is perfect for relaxation and sharing quiet moments together over a candlelit meal or drink whilst admiring the stunning ocean view. There is an attractive lounge area with sofa, armchairs and writing desk and a complimentary mini bar is provided. The marble clad bathroom has a walk-in shower and bathtub, which is situated close to the glass panels with optional wood panels for those who want to relax and enjoy the view. Outside on the spacious terrace there is another opportunity to enjoy the view from the outdoor Jacuzzi. This suite has a butler service on request. Guests on arrival are welcomed with a traditional Chinese tea service.
Al Husn Royal Suite

Absolutely stunning! This gorgeous suite has been inspired by the 17th century castle at Jabreen and certainly evokes the opulent trappings of Arabia royals so is perfect for honeymooners! The rich, sensual fabrics that have been used throughout are exquisite and the furniture has been made by craftsmen including the decorated wall mirrors. There is a generously sized sitting room with an elegant dining table and chairs. The furnished balcony has gorgeous views of the infinity pool with the ocean beyond. The marble clad bathroom is beautiful with a steam room and large bathtub with Jacuzzi for relaxing together and enjoying the ocean views. This suite has a butler service and its own private elevator. Guests are welcomed with a traditional Chinese tea service.

Facilities

The Shangri La Al Hasn (Al Hasn means the castle) is truly beautiful with gardens and a pristine stretch of private sandy beach with a cove. There is a beautiful infinity pool with a large terrace with sun loungers. The stylish Hareer L'Occitane Spa, which uses the luxurious French spa products opened earlier this year and has sumptuous treatment rooms. There is a really good gym and fitness centre close to the Spa.

With the Bay of Oman just footsteps away, there are plenty of water-based activities to enjoy including paddle boarding, wake boarding, water skiing, doughnut rides and kayaking.

Restaurants

Epicurean experiences for the discerning diner in the stunning setting of the Resort's restaurants. With four very different dining options, Shangri La Al Husn Resort offers plenty of choice, but there is more as guests in this resort you can use the 15 restaurant's in Resort's adjacent sister properties too. Daily complimentary pre-dinner drinks and canapés are served to all guests

Sultanah

This stylish restaurant has the theme of a luxury cruise ship and serves meals with an international flavour all day through. The day begins with a really excellent buffet breakfast.
Shahrazad

This delightful restaurant is an authentic Arabic one with Lebanese, Omani and Moroccan dishes on the menu and good evening entertainment too.
Al Muheet Poolside Café

Relaxing and very casual, this is the perfect setting for a cool drink and light snack at lunchtime.
Manhara Beach Bar

This casual beach bar serves delicious grilled seafood.
