Room Types

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas has an attractive hacienda style exterior and an inviting interior for your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon in Brazil. There are 187 rooms and suites and each one exudes an old-world elegance, but only 19 have views of the falls, the rest have attractive garden views. The rooms are spacious with parquet wood floors and beautiful wooden furniture. Artisanal fabrics in soft muted tones have been used with great effect as have locally commissioned art works and vases of fresh flowers and houseplants. There are comfortable chairs in each room and a bed with stylish hand carved headboard. The bathrooms have a bath tub fitted with a shower.

Standard Room

This attractive room (24-29 m²) is light and bright with stylish dark wood furniture. With comfortable chairs for relaxing, there is a LCD TV and mini bar provided. There is a comfortable queen size bed and the en suite is decorated with touches of marble and has either a bath or shower and luxury toiletries. This room type is also available as a Superior Room situated in the Forest Wing.This beautiful room has the bonus of wonderful paintings of local flora and fauna by Brazilian artist Ludmila de Monte and traditional azulejos painted tiles.
Deluxe Room

Beautifully bright and light with stylish dark wood furniture; this 29m² room is very relaxing with comfortable armchairs in the living area and a beautiful queen size bed and elegant bathroom. This room type is also available as a Deluxe Falls View Room which has the added bonus of stunning views of the falls – the perfect backdrop to an unforgettable honeymoon.
Junior Suite

This spacious suite (35m²) in relaxing colours has an attractive living room which has an LCD TV with DVD and a writing desk as well as comfortable armchairs. There is a queen size bed and stylish bathroom.
Cataratas Suite

Stylish and spacious, this beautiful suite (65m²) has a separate living room with sofa, dining suite, coffee table and writing desk. This suite has four delightful balconies for perfect quieter moments together. The bedroom has a king size bed and en suite.

Facilities

Enjoy your honeymoon at Belmond Hotel Das Cataratas at your own pace, the hotel has a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by palm trees, tennis courts and a gym. The sumptuous spa is perfect for deeply relaxing treatments including 'Essence of the Amazon' which uses Amazonian essential oils that are applied by the therapists to the sound of tropical bird song.

There are some great excursions too, into the rainforest and led by eco guides and there is the chance to see some of the wildlife which includes armadillos, wild dogs and tapirs. There are 'First Light' walks where you can explore the rich flora and fauna of the area and the 'forest experience' where you can join a campfire, eat traditional food and take part in a tobacco ceremony with the tribal elders. The local bird park has over 160 colourful species of birds and gives you the chance to feed the vibrant coloured flamingoes.

The Iguazu Falls can be enjoyed on a walking trip, on a speedboat or by helicopter. The 'Full Moon Walk' is great activity to experience; it coincides with your stay as it gives you the rare opportunity of seeing a 'lunar rainbow'. If you fancy making your own excursion, bicycles can be hired from the Reception.

Restaurants

The restaurants at the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas all have one very special feature – their background music is the water cascading down at the nearby Iguazu Falls! They are all surrounded by the Brazilian rainforest and this gives them an extra charm and romance. If, during your stay, you have a particularly special dinner in mind, the Chefs are happy to create a very special meal for you in the location of your choice.

Ipe Grill

This delightful restaurant is open all day through and the day starts with an attractive breakfast buffet with good coffee! For dinner, you can enjoy wonderfully tender meat served straight from the barbecue and accompanied by an extensive buffet of different seasonal salads and both local and international dishes. Relax and enjoy this wonderful feast, but don't forget that there will be a tempting array of Brazilian puddings too!
Haipu Restaurant

This restaurant has an elegant dining room but the most romantic setting is out on the shaded verandah, which is flower-filled. The menu is filled with signature Brazilian and international dishes.
Bar Taroba

This bar has a lovely spacious balcony that is perfect for watching the sun set over the waterfalls. Open all day through, casual and relaxing, Bar Taroba is perfect for enjoying leisurely drinks and light bites.
