OVERVIEW
A bustling city life, stunning architecture and beautiful scenery; Toronto, the capital city of Ontario, Canada, has it all. Known as a ‘City within a Park’, Toronto is quickly establishing itself as the perfect honeymoon destination for couples from across the world.
Toronto is famous for its beautiful skyline, with towering high rises and busy streets, which means there’s always something going on. Whether you wish to stroll along the waterfront, sample delicious local cuisine (such as traditional Poutine) or take in the breathtaking city views from the CN Tower, you are sure to fall in love with this spectacular city.
Beautiful sights to see In Toronto
This beautiful city is packed with fun and quirky things to do. One of the most visited attractions is the iconic CN Tower situated in downtown Toronto. Imagine enjoying champagne and taking in the stunning panoramic views of the entire city from the top of the CN Tower. The 350-metre high revolving restaurant is also one of the best places to take photographs in Toronto. However, if you are feeling adventurous, try the Sky Edge walk where you can walk and stand on a hands-free ledge towering over the breath-taking city.
Lake Ontario is one of the five ‘great lakes of America’, and for good reason. Whether you visit to start your morning with a swim, or simply want to dip your toes in the cool water, you’re sure to enjoy a visit to the Lake. We’d recommend visiting at sunset for spectacular views.
Now that you’ve found your prince/princess, it’s time to find your castle! Visit a real-life fairytale castle in Midtown Toronto known as Casa Loma, built in 1914, was designed to resemble a medieval castle and is now open for the public to explore. When attending, be sure to take a look through their botanical gardens too.
Once you’ve experienced a slice of culture, Toronto has an abundance of fun and adventurous hiking trails for you to enjoy, from Glendon’s forest woodland track to the stunning Betland trail. Be sure to prepare some snacks for on the way.
Just a short trip away from the city’s docks sit a chain of 15 small islands full of opportunity. Each island has something fun to offer during your romantic getaway, from peaceful and idyllic beaches to award-winning theme parks that will leave your heart racing.
Toronto is a great honeymoon destination year-round, although we’d recommend visiting during Christmas time as there is always something exciting to do. From enjoying a shopping experience at Toronto’s iconic Eaton Centre, admiring sharks and jellyfish at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada to heading to the Distillery Historic District Christmas Market to see the Christmas lights or visiting the largest Toronto zoo, which has more than 5000 animals.
Although, if you feel like a little romantic day trip together why not head to the world-famous Niagara Falls, which is about a 130-min drive from Toronto. Take in the majesty of the stunning Niagara Falls which can be seen from every angle such as from the walkway, one of many world class restaurants and even on adventurous boat tours. You can even pop over to the beautiful and historic town of Niagara-on-the-lake too if you fancy it.
However, you decide to spend your time in Toronto, it’s clear that it is the perfect destination for a honeymoon – offering the ideal combination of adventure and relaxation.
