Maldives vs Bora Bora – Which one should you choose?
Unfortunately it isn’t really viable to travel to both, and the difficult decision must be made. The Maldives has the advantage of being closer to home and having amazing all inclusive packages like the ones available at Kuramathi & Kandolhu, but Bora Bora has more to see and do like staying or visiting Tahiti and Papeete. Whilst the accommodation types from the beach villas, to the plunge pool water suites can be found in both locations, Bora Bora is simply a more expansive world to be explored and this should be considered when you’re thinking about what type of honeymoon you want. The limitless luxury of Bora Bora can be found around the French Polynesia, Hilton Bora Bora Nui and Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa serve as two brilliant examples. The only catch is that Bora Bora takes over a full day to fly from the UK so it often only comes into contention in someones choice when they are going to the US and often paired with Los Angeles.
The Maldives is the cheaper alternative granted, but even though in certain aspects it doesn’t compare to Bora Bora, it sometimes excels and the money saved in airfare shouldn’t be forgotten. If you’re looking for gorgeous beaches, tranquility, luxury and an all round honeymoon destination then you can’t go wrong with either.
Realistically Maldives is firmly our most popular destination, and this is because of how easy it is to travel to. Many people enjoy a short stay in Dubai to complement a stay in the serene Maldives by exploring the metropolis of a vast city and Bora Bora is a fantastic combination in the same way when it is doubled up with a stay in the star studded world of Los Angeles.
