Room Types

There are seven wings to the hotel and each one has its own individual character. All the rooms are spacious and have been individually decorated. Toning fabrics have been cleverly used to create light, bright and relaxing interiors. All the rooms are carpeted and fitted with a king size bed. There are comfortable armchairs, a flat screen TV with satellite channels, tea & coffee making facilities and a mini bar. The elegant marble bathrooms have complimentary toiletries. Some of the rooms and suites have balconies.

Deluxe room

This lovely room has a floor area of 34m² and is full of classic charm and comfort. Rooms offer views of the pool, hotel gardens or the mesmerising Table Mountain and have an attractive sitting area with armchairs for relaxing.
Superior room

This elegant and spacious room (42m²) has a mini lounge area with comfortable armchairs and a writing desk. In the beautiful marble bathroom there is a bath, shower and double vanity basins.
Junior suite

This attractive open plan suite is extremely comfortable as it has a floor space of 45m². These suites are situated in the main building or Green Park Wing and have wonderful views of Table Mountain, the gardens or the courtyard. There is a living area, bedroom area and the bathroom has both a shower and bath.
Deluxe junior suite

This beautiful suite also has 45m² of floor area and has really attractive individually crafted furniture. Situated in the main building or Green Park Wing, many of these suites also have a comfortable balcony.
Studio suite

This stylish open plan suite has 60m² of floor area and has a living area, bedroom area and bathroom with shower and bath. In some studio suites there are well equipped kitchenettes too.
Deluxe studio suite

This delightful studio suite (50m²) is perfect for honeymooners wanting to relax in after a day exploring Cape Town. It has spacious bedroom and living areas and many have balconies too.
Garden Cottage Studios

Measuring from 48sqm in size, each of these restored historic cottages lie behind fragrant rose gardens and stand adjacent to the hotel’s secluded swimming pool. They boast spacious lounges and dining rooms, gleaming marble bathrooms and private terraces or balconies overlooking Signal Hill and Table Mountain. They’re an idyllic romantic hideaway for honeymooners or couples.

Facilities

With such a stunning location at the foot of Table Mountain, the staff at Belmond Mount Nelson is keen that you have a truly memorable trip. The hotel has several beautiful outdoor pools with sun terraces and there is a tennis court and the beautiful Librisia Spa where the qualified staff promise to balance body and soul using a range of natural botanical products. There is a sauna and plunge pool as well as a an area for simply relaxing.

For those keen to explore Cape Town, there is a regular shuttle bus that goes to the V & A waterfront. There are dawn walks to Table Mountain – either with a guide or 1 to 1 with a trained photographer to help you capture the magic of the flora and fauna. There are cultural walking trips around Cape Town, a Township farm tour, the chance to have your portrait painted or top join in an art class with a popular local artist. There is the chance to enjoy shopping trips, wine tours and the sunset walk which returns to the slopes of Table Mountain with cocktails and canapes to enjoy a very special sunset.

There are 2 outstanding wining and dining venues at Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, and in addition regular meals you can also opt for the unique Chef’s Table experience or sit down to the hotel’s lavish afternoon tea.

Planet Restaurant

This stylish restaurant with its ornate ceiling and carpet patterned with a galaxy of stars, offers wonderful seasonal dishes all year through from delicious summer salads to Beef Wellington in the winter. Outside the terrace is beautiful with all the stonework in the signature colour of soft pink and rattan tables and chairs- with pink cushions of course. Live music enhances your evening meals from Tuesday to Sunday and if you want a unique and intimate dining experience why not opt for a meal in the restaurant cellar?
Oasis Bistro

Situated next to one of the pools, this popular restaurant is perfect for local and Mediterranean inspired light meals and snacks. Its sun splashed terrace is perfect for cocktails as the sun starts to sink. The a la carte menu is similarly delightful, featuring succulent meats and fresh seafood, pizza, pasta, sandwiches and healthy light meals. Make sure you leave room for a decadent dessert.
