Hotel Santa Teresa Rio MGallery by Sofitel is a converted mansion house dating from 1850 that was once a coffee plantation and today is the secret and luxurious hideaway of so many stars including Alicia Keys, Robert Plant and you of course, for your fun filled honeymoon.

Room Types

The rooms and suites at Hotel Santa Teresa Rio MGallery by Sofitel are all casually elegant in muted shades with numerous windows and beautiful furniture. There are comfy chairs, a writing desk and 27” cable TV, mini bar, Nespresso machine and safe. The king size bed has beautifully fine linen and the en suite has either a spacious walk in shower or bathtub and gowns are provided. For comfort there is air conditioning throughout and for convenience, complimentary Wi Fi.

Superior room

This lovely room (25m²) features lots of beautiful wood with a parquet floor, stylish furniture and a dramatic headboard on the king size bed. This room is really cosy with blue shuttered windows and decorative houseplants. There are views over the city, gardens or hotel courtyard.
Deluxe room with balcony

Spacious and truly elegant, this lovely 35m² room is very comfortable with several windows and Wooden French windows leading out on to the lovely balcony that has table and chairs for quiet moments together. Inside there is lovely modern décor in muted tones with wall prints and quirky ornaments. There is a living area and king size bed and the bathroom has either shower or bath tub
Junior Suite

With beautiful views of the mountains, this spacious suite (40 m²) has a living room and separate bedroom with a canopied king size four-poster bed. This room also benefits from an attractive balcony.
Master Suite

With lovely views of the hotel gardens, this elegant suite is perfect for two with plenty of space (70m²) in restful shades of cream and brown, with stylish wooden furniture including a canopied four-poster bed. The spacious bathroom has a lovely Studio Vitti style bath for perfect relaxation.
Loft Suite

This delightful suite has plenty of character and great views over Santa Teresa. There is a comfortable living room and separate master bedroom with king size bed and designer Studio Vitti bath in the bathroom.
Royal Suite

Definitely fit for a king and his queen, this beautiful suite has 160m² of floor area with lovely views of the statue of Christ the Redeemer and over Guanabara Bay. There is a living room with comfortable chairs and dining area and grand piano, a separate bedroom with king size bed. There is a gorgeous bathroom with Studio Vitti bathtub and a stylish balcony with table and chairs for two.

Facilities

Situated in the Bohemian style neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, which is on a hill, the only way is down if you want to get out and about exploring!

If you prefer to stay around the hotel and to relax, there is a lovely palm fringed swimming pool with spacious sun deck for simply stretching out. The sumptuous spa is well known in town and is said to be one of the best. If you want to get out and about the hotel staff will advise you on great excursions and Ipanema is 30 minutes drive away.

Restaurants

Hotel Santa Teresa MGallery by Sofitel has a lovely restaurant and an intriguing bar where the lighting is so subdued that the waiters need torches to read the menu! At the Descasador there are really lovely cocktails to enjoy in the dimly light environment and they are made with seasonal fruit, acai and coconut water – terrific!

Térèze Restaurant

Franco-Brazilian cuisine at its best! The restaurant opens for breakfast, which is said to be one of the best for miles around! This restaurant has a great reputation and draws diners up the hill from the city for a real culinary treat! Dinner is very special and is very romantic for two.
