Room Types

There are just 24 detached chalets that are scattered across the resort's 58 acres of beautiful land. 19 of the chalets are designed for couples and each has been placed to offer serenity and privacy. There are two old reservoirs on the land and paddy fields so it is possible to watch the land being worked as it has been for centuries.

Ulagalla Pool Villa

There are just 19 of these villas and each measures 850 sq ft with glass wall panoramic vistas if the surrounding natural paradise. Each villa has a king bed, LED TV, Wi-Fi, deck area and private plunge pool.
Deluxe Ulagalla Villa

Boasting of 2,100 sq ft of living space, these spacious villas offer ultimate luxury with a 700 sq ft outdoor deck with day beds, second bathroom, dining area and a plunge pool. Inside, these villas feature a bathroom with shower and bathtub, living room and spacious bedroom.
Nikawewa Villa

The stunning 1,200 sq ft Nikawewa Villa is a spacious oasis with 2 bedrooms and offers gorgeous views of the paddy field. Each villa features a king bed, LED TV, room service, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar, hair dryer and chocolate/fruit bowl.

Facilities

Ulagalla by Uga Escapes has a wonderful Olympic size fresh water pool (39 metres) and extensive sun terrace. There is a luxury spa which is stunning as it has been created to feel like a cave and there is a waterfall gently cascading over the roof – what a wonderful place to be pampered! There is archery, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking available at the resort. Ulagalla by Uga Escapes is situated in the middle of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka so there are many excursions available for those who are keen to explore such wonderful ruins as Rihgala. There are cycling tours and safaris of Minneriya National Park to see the elephants and Wilrath National Park to admire the leopards. If James Bond does want to come and visit, the resort has its own heli pad too!

Restaurants

The Liya Wela Restaurant is as luxurious as the rest of the resort. Traditionally styled in toning shades of brown, the Chefs create wonderful fusion dishes of western and eastern cuisines. The restaurant is situated upstairs so there are beautiful views of the treetops and a very light – but refreshing – cool evening breeze. For those who wish, there is the chance to enjoy your dinner in the privacy of your chalet.
