When should I start planning my honeymoon?
When the wedding date is set its time to think about the aftermath (honeymoon) which needs to be nothing less than a once in a lifetime experience. Flights are usually released 11 months in advance and this is the time when you should consider getting that honeymoon booked, maximising the chance that you’ll find the best deal out there. Planning is a central component to finding and agreeing on a superb honeymoon itinerary that will be remembered, along with the unrivalled accommodation you’ll be staying in whether it be an overwater villa with panoramic ocean views or a hotel suite with a staggering view of the cityscape.
Have an idea of your Geography.
Where have you always wanted to go? What have you always dreamt of doing? What does your partner want to do?
Longing for a destination that has everything is a common specific in a newly married couples decision, luckily we can help with that by having a knowledgable and dedicated sales team, which have been lucky enough to travel across the world themselves. Is it relaxation or adventure that you want or is it the metropolis or the beach life? The choices are vast and getting in touch with a travel expert is a fantastic starting point into establishing your dreamy paradise.
Know your budget.
Airline fares are a big part of the budget and so is the amount of nights and where you’ll be staying, but another factor that you should definitely consider is catering, as certain countries can be quite costly for food. Eating out every night might not be the most cost effective, but the opposite could always be the case. We’ve got plenty advise on restaurants, food and nightlife around the countries we sell which can help you decide wether to base your spending budget on a room only, breakfast, full board or all inclusive holiday etc.
Our travel specialists are always busy generating free quotes, so there’s no harm in enquiring to get an idea of things!
When do you want to leave?
This is hugely important as you don’t want to be going to the Caribbean in monsoon season, but also do you plan to jet off as soon as you’ve tied the knot? Many couples will often postpone honeymoon celebrations until the following year once when more money has been saved (weddings alone can be expensive!).
What type of honeymoon are you looking for?
Common types of honeymoon include, multi-centre, safari, adventure, island, city, beach so finding a common ground between you and your partner can quickly establish a brief idea of the type of honeymoon you’ll be going on and the multi centre honeymoon option can expand on this by making sure you can mix two or three countries together… for example the cityscape of Dubai and a tranquil island escape in the Maldives.
What kind of resort are you looking for?
Are you looking for the unique or the unusual? boutique or heritage? Consider each resort with the benefits it offers and see if it fits into your budget and provides the desired services of catering. Some resorts go one step further with included excursions, complimentary amenities and even free tickets to nearby attractions. The resorts you choose can be make or break so be sure to study each one in depth and speak to a travel specialist for another perspective. Many hotels provide added honeymoon benefits like a romantic dinner on the beach, complementary massages, breakfast in bed or even a sunset cruise, which can be a lovely touch to a romantic occasion.
