As day breaks over the horizon, you’ll be swept up into the sky, toasting your picturesque ascent with complimentary drinks.
Gaze out over the rugged terrain, glimpsing the historic former palace of King Kashyapa atop an almost 200-metre-high rock edifice. You’ll enjoy a bird’s eye view of the remains of the palace’s royal bathing pool while soaring beyond this lofty creation and over to Minneriya National Park. Sail above lush jungle canopies and see if you can spot some of the Asian elephants that reside here – they comprise the largest herd in the world!

From this wildlife-rich spot, your journey will then take you over to the Kandalama Reservoir – a hub for countless tropical birds – and the breathtaking Golden Temple of Dambulla that glitters spectacularly in the morning sunlight. Be sure to have your camera ready as you pass over the greatly revered Buddha statue before finally drifting among the mist-fringed Knuckles Mountain Range, ready to return to the ground.
